- When the time of death approaches, read Surah Yaaseen by me or have it recited by someone. Read the Kalimah in an audible tone around me. Ensure that no ghair mahrams (strangers – people with whom marriage is permissible) are present.
- After my death, make immediate arrangements for my ghusl and other burial rites. Do not delay in this and make sure that no ghair mahram touches my body. Similarly, do not show my face to ghair mahrams.
- Regarding the ghusl, Kaffan and burial, etc. adhere strictly to the Sunnah of Rasulullaah (sallallaahu-alayhi-wasallam).
- When laying me in the room after ghusl, please make sure that no ghair mahrams are present. Also ensure that nobody screams or cries aloud unnaturally. Do not utter any word which is against the Shariah.
- Do not transport my body unnecessarily to any place. Bury me in the area where I die. Do not delay the Janaazah salaah by waiting for people from far off places.
- If, by the grace of Allaah, I die on a Thursday night or Friday morning, bury me before the Jumu’ah salaah if possible.
- Have my Janaazah salaah performed by one who strictly follows the dictates of Shariah. Bury me in accordance with the Sunnah. After burying me, stand by my graveside for a while and recite Qur’aan and make Duaa for me.
- Continuously do good actions and convey the rewards to me. At least, recite Surah Al-Ikhlaas thrice everyday and convey the rewards to me. Do not forget to continuously make du’aa that Allaah saves us all from the torments of the grave and the difficulties of the Hereafter.
- Remember not to solidify my grave with bricks or tombstones, etc.
- Do not donate any organ or part of my body.
- Lead your lives strictly in accordance with Shariah. Do not do any act that will invite the wrath and anger of Allaah. Refrain from deviated beliefs and practices.
- Be regular with your salaah, recitation of Qur’aan, zikr, charity and all other good deeds.
- Be content with what Allaah has given you. Do not let greed overtake you.
- Please keep the house free of a TV, video, portraits of animate objects, music and all other forbidden items.
- Shun all evil customs prevalent in the society and family.
- Always respect, honour and show love to the Ulamaa, students and propagators of Deen in particular, and all other people in general.
- Distribute the inheritance amongst yourselves, as ordained by Allaah in the Qur’aan as soon as possible, WITHOUT DELAY. Seek advice from the Ulamaa in this matter and Do Not dispute regarding the Shar’ee ruling.
- Always seek Islamic knowledge, adopt the company of the pious, enjoin good and forbid evil.
- Make sure that you nurture your children in accordance with Islaamic values and principles. If possible, encourage them to become Huffaaz-ul-Qur’aan and Ulamaa-e-Deen.
- Live on Islaam and die on Islaam.
- Look after the needs of the women in the family.
- Make the propagation of Deen the purpose of your lives.
- Give priority to the commands of Allaah Ta’aala, above all others.
